Update Your Dealer Profile and Portal Settings
Audience: Dealer Owner: Support / Account Management Last updated: 2026-06-09 Related SOPs: dealer-portal-onboarding.md, dealer-login-and-password-reset.md
What this is
The Settings page in your Dealer Portal is where you manage the information that represents your business — your company name, location, logo, and the web address (URL) people use to reach your catalog. It’s also where you set the brand colors and font that control the look and feel of your entire product catalog. This guide walks you through every field on the Settings page, one step at a time.
What your customers will see
The changes you make here affect what your customers see when they visit your product catalog:
- Your company name and logo appear at the top of your catalog (when “Show Logo” is enabled in the Customize tab).
- Your brand colors control the look of buttons like “Request Info,” pricing text, links, borders, and hover effects across your catalog — in both the embeddable widget version and the direct-link version.
- Your font choice sets the typeface used throughout your catalog pages.
🛡️ Don’t worry — Changing your profile settings does not alter your product listings, remove any leads you’ve received, or affect your website itself. These settings only change how your catalog looks and what business information is displayed on it.
Before you start
- You’ll need to be logged in to your Dealer Portal. If you’re not sure how, see Log In to Your Dealer Portal and Reset Your Password.
- About 10–15 minutes is all this takes.
- Your company logo file (if you want to upload one). Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, WEBP, or SVG. Maximum file size: 2 MB.
- Your brand colors (if you have specific ones). If you don’t, the defaults look great and you can always change them later.
💡 Tip — If you went through the onboarding wizard when you first set up your portal, some of these fields may already be filled in. You can update them anytime.
What you need to do
Part 1 — Open the Settings page
-
Look at the left sidebar of your Dealer Portal. You’ll see a list of pages like Catalog, Leads, and Settings.

Click “Settings” in the sidebar. The Settings page will open with several tabs at the top. This guide covers the first two: Dealer Profile and Theme & Typography. The Dealer Profile tab is selected by default.

Part 2 — Update your Company Information
The top section of the Dealer Profile tab is Company Information. This is basic information about your business.
-
Find the “Company Name” field. Type your business name here. This is a required field — you must enter something before you can save.

Find the “Website” field. Enter your business website address here (for example,
https://yourwebsite.com). This is optional, but it helps us link back to your site. -
Find the “City” field. Type the city where your business is located.
-
Find the “Country” dropdown. Click it and choose either United States or Canada.
💡 Tip — Selecting your country first is a good idea because it determines which states or provinces appear in the next dropdown.
-
Find the “State/Province” dropdown. Click it and choose your state or province from the list. If you selected United States, you’ll see all 50 US states. If you selected Canada, you’ll see all 13 Canadian provinces and territories.
-
Click the “Save Dealer Profile” button at the bottom of the page to save your Company Information changes.

Show enough context above the button so the reader knows where it is on the page.💡 Tip — The “Save Dealer Profile” button saves only the Company Information fields (company name, website, city, country, and state/province). Your logo and portal URL each have their own separate save process, which we’ll cover next.
Part 3 — Upload or change your Dealer Logo
Below the Company Information section, you’ll find the Dealer Logo section. Your logo appears in your catalog header when the “Show Logo” option is turned on in the Customize tab.
-
Look at the Dealer Logo section. You’ll see either your current logo displayed as a small preview (about the size of a profile picture), or a 🔥 fire emoji placeholder if no logo has been uploaded yet.

04-dealer-logo.pngCapture the Dealer Logo section showing either the 120×120 logo preview or the fire emoji placeholder, the “Upload New Logo” file input, and (if a logo exists) the “Remove Logo” button. Crop out unrelated sections. -
To upload a new logo, click the “Upload New Logo” file input (or the “Choose File” button — the exact label depends on your browser). A file picker window will open.
-
Select your logo file from your computer. Your file must be one of these formats: JPG, PNG, WEBP, or SVG, and must be 2 MB or smaller.
🤔 Not sure about file size? — On Windows, right-click the file and select “Properties.” On Mac, right-click and select “Get Info.” Look for the file size — it should say less than 2 MB (2,000 KB). Most logo files are well under this limit.
-
Your logo uploads automatically as soon as you select the file. You’ll see the preview update to show your new logo. There is no separate “Save” button for the logo — it saves on its own.
🛡️ Don’t worry — Uploading a new logo replaces the old one, but it doesn’t affect anything else in your profile or catalog. If you change your mind, you can always upload a different logo or remove it entirely.
-
To remove your logo (optional), click the “Remove Logo” button. You’ll see a confirmation prompt asking if you’re sure. Click OK to confirm. The logo will be removed and replaced with the fire emoji placeholder.
⚠️ Important — The “Remove Logo” button only appears if you currently have a logo uploaded. If you see only the placeholder, there’s nothing to remove.
Part 4 — Change your Portal URL
Below the logo section, you’ll find the Portal URL section. Your portal URL — also called your “slug” — is the unique web address where people can visit your product catalog directly. It looks like this: productsync.io/dealer/your-slug.
-
Look at the Portal URL section. You’ll see your current portal URL displayed, with an “Edit” button next to it.
(screenshot pending: The Portal URL editor) Figure 5 — The Portal URL section showing your current slug and the Edit button.
📸 Screenshot needed —
05-portal-url.pngCapture the Portal URL (PortalSlugEditor) section showing the current slug displayed as/dealer/{slug}with the Edit button visible. Show the section in its default (non-editing) state. Crop out unrelated sections. -
Click “Edit” to change your portal URL. The field will become editable.
-
Type your new slug. As you type, the system automatically cleans up what you enter:
- Everything is converted to lowercase
- Only letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), and hyphens (-) are allowed
- Spaces and special characters are removed automatically
-
Click “Check Availability” to see if your chosen slug is available. You’ll see one of three results:
- ✅ Green checkmark — The slug is available and you can use it.
- ❌ Red X — The slug is already taken by another dealer. Try a different one.
- ⏳ Spinner — The system is checking. Wait a moment.
-
If the slug is available, click “Save” to update your portal URL.
⚠️ Important — When you change your portal URL, the change happens immediately. Your old URL stops working right away — anyone who bookmarked or linked to your old URL will no longer be able to reach your catalog at that address. Make sure to update any links on your website, social media, or marketing materials to use the new URL.
🛡️ Don’t worry — Changing your URL does not delete or alter any of your products, catalogs, leads, or settings. Only the web address changes.
Part 5 — Customize your Theme & Typography
Now let’s move to the second tab, where you can set your brand colors and font.
-
Click the “Theme & Typography” tab at the top of the Settings page (next to “Dealer Profile”).
(screenshot pending: The Theme & Typography tab) Figure 6 — Click the Theme & Typography tab to switch to color and font settings.
📸 Screenshot needed —
06-theme-typography-tab.pngCapture the Settings page with the Theme & Typography tab selected/active. Show the tab bar and the top portion of the tab content below. Crop out the sidebar.
Brand Colors
The Brand Colors section has three color pickers — one for each color in your catalog’s visual theme. Each picker has a colored square you can click to open a visual color picker, and a hex input field where you can type an exact color code.
🤔 What’s a hex color code? — It’s a six-character code (like
#1a1a2e) that represents an exact color. If your business has a brand guide or style sheet, your designer or marketing team will know these codes. If you don’t have specific colors, the defaults look great.
-
Set your Primary Color. This color is used for your “Request Info” button, pricing text, and primary links throughout your catalog. The default is
#1a1a2e(a deep navy).(screenshot pending: The Brand Colors section with the three color pickers) Figure 7 — The three brand color pickers: Primary, Secondary, and Accent.
📸 Screenshot needed —

Show default or demo values. Crop out unrelated sections.- To pick a color visually: Click the colored square to open the color picker. Click or drag to choose your color, then click away to close the picker.
- To enter an exact code: Click the hex input field (e.g.,
#1a1a2e) and type your six-character hex code.
-
Set your Secondary Color. This color is used for secondary buttons and borders. The default is
#374151(a medium gray). -
Set your Accent Color. This color is used for hover states (when a customer moves their mouse over a button or link) and highlights. The default is
#e94560(a warm red-pink).
Font Family
-
Choose your font from the Font Family dropdown. Click the dropdown and select one of the available fonts:

Inter is the default and works well for most catalogs. If your website already uses one of these fonts, choosing the same one will give your catalog a consistent look.
Live Preview
-
Check the Live Preview section below the color and font settings. It shows color swatches for each of your three selected colors, plus a font sample (displaying “Aa Bb Cc 123” in your chosen font) so you can see how everything looks together before saving.

📸 Screenshot needed —
09-color-preview.pngCapture the Live Preview section showing the color swatches for all three colors and the font sample text “Aa Bb Cc 123.” Show it with non-default colors if possible for visual interest. Crop out unrelated sections. -
Click “Save Dealer Profile” at the bottom of the page to save your theme and typography changes.
⚠️ Important — Your theme colors and font apply globally to all of your catalogs — both the embeddable widget version and the direct-link version. Every catalog you have will use these same colors and font.
⚠️ Re-run Onboarding Wizard (use with extreme caution)
At the bottom of the Theme & Typography tab, you may notice a button labeled “Re-run Onboarding Wizard.” This section explains what it does so you can make an informed decision — but in most cases, you should not use this button.
⚠️ Important — This is a destructive action. Clicking “Re-run Onboarding Wizard” permanently deletes ALL of your catalogs, ALL of your products, and ALL of your preferences, then restarts the onboarding setup from scratch. This cannot be undone.
- If you click the button, your browser will show a confirmation dialog asking if you are sure. You must confirm twice before it proceeds.
- Once confirmed, everything is erased and you start over as if you just created your account.
- There is no way to recover your data after this.
🤔 When would I actually use this? — Almost never. This exists only as a last resort if your entire portal setup is incorrect and starting over is genuinely easier than fixing individual settings. If you’re considering it, contact your account manager first — they can usually fix things without wiping your data.
🛡️ Don’t worry — You cannot accidentally trigger this. The double confirmation dialog makes sure you have to deliberately confirm before anything is deleted.
Platform-specific tips
Not applicable for this procedure. Your Dealer Profile and Theme & Typography settings are managed entirely within the Dealer Portal and do not require any changes on your website.
If something doesn’t look right
🤔 “My logo isn’t showing in my catalog” Your logo only appears in the catalog header when the “Show Logo” option is turned on. This option is in a different place — the Customize tab (not the Settings page). Check your Customize tab and make sure “Show Logo” is enabled.
🤔 “I changed my colors but my catalog still looks the same” Make sure you clicked “Save Dealer Profile” after making your changes. Then do a hard refresh in your browser (press Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows, or Cmd + Shift + R on Mac) on the page where you’re viewing your catalog. Some browsers cache the old styles temporarily.
🤔 “The slug I want says it’s taken” Portal URL slugs must be unique across all dealers. Try adding your city, state abbreviation, or a number to make yours unique — for example,
joes-stoves-bostoninstead ofjoes-stoves.
🤔 “I changed my portal URL and now my old links are broken” This is expected — old URLs stop working immediately when you change your slug. Update any links on your website, Google Business Profile, social media, or printed materials to use your new URL.
🤔 “My logo upload failed” Check that your file is one of the accepted formats (JPG, PNG, WEBP, or SVG) and is 2 MB or smaller. If the file is too large, try compressing it with a free tool like TinyPNG before uploading again.
🤔 “I can’t find the State/Province dropdown options” Make sure you’ve selected a Country first. The State/Province list updates based on your country selection — it shows US states if you chose United States, or Canadian provinces if you chose Canada.
You’re done when
✅ You’re done when — Your company name, location, and website are filled in and saved. Your logo is uploaded (if you have one). Your portal URL is set to what you want. Your brand colors and font match your business identity. You can see your changes reflected in the Live Preview on the Theme & Typography tab.
Completion checklist
- My company name is entered and saved
- My city, country, and state/province are set correctly
- My website URL is entered (if I have one)
- My logo is uploaded and showing in the preview (or I’m okay with the default placeholder)
- My portal URL slug is what I want (and I’ve updated any external links if I changed it)
- My brand colors (primary, secondary, accent) match my business identity
- My font is selected
- I clicked “Save Dealer Profile” on each tab after making changes
- The Live Preview on the Theme & Typography tab looks correct
